How do I volunteer at a packaging event?

Are masks required to volunteer?
Masks are optional for all volunteers.

What is the minimum age for volunteering?
Children of all ages are welcome to volunteer. If a child is under the age of 12, they must be accompanied by an adult during the packing event.

Do I need to arrive early for orientation?
Please arrive 5-10 minutes prior to your packing session. Your orientation and packing instructions will take place during your scheduled shift time.

Are we supposed to wear any particular clothing?
Hats are encouraged otherwise hairnets will be provided.

Can I volunteer if I'm sick/have been sick?
Please do not attend an event if you are feeling sick.

How much does the food cost?
The cost of each event will be determined by the number of meals packed. The cost of each meal is $0.25.

Where do you get your financial support from?
Financial support comes from individuals, organizations, and businesses around the Chippewa Valley Area.

Do you buy the ingredients for the meals?
We supply all of the ingredients for each event. The raw ingredients consist of rice, soy, dehydrated vegetables, and flavored powder. The group, organization, or businesses participating in the packing event will be responsible for covering the costs of these ingredients which amounts to $0.25/meal.

How do you determine who receives the food?
We prioritize the need locally within the Chippewa Valley Area. We work closing with Stepping Stones of Menomonie, and Feed My People Food Bank in Eau Claire.
In the past if the local hunger needs are being satisfied, and we have a surplus of meals we have delivered meals across the U.S. for disaster relief.

Yes, through our local food banks that we work with, such as Stepping Stones and Feed My People Food Bank.

Do you sell the food?
No all of our food is donated.
